Emerald Gets the Green Light: Pantone’s 2013 Color of the Year

Pantone Emerald 17-5641

Pantone Inc. announced this week the 2013 Color of the Year…..Emerald!  Leaving last year’s winner Tangerine Tango behind,  Emerald is energizing, cooling, and sophisticated.   “As it has throughout history multifaceted Emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate.  Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world”, notes Leatrice Eisenman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

Greens universally convey freshness and health and are calming. They’re a great choice for spaces where these attributes are desired, in particular kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms. Although this luxurious hue is abundant in nature, it doesn’t need to be overwhelming in a space to make an impression.  Even a pop of Emerald is perfect.  As sure as green means ‘go’, check out this year’s most influential color!
